What is the point of Kirac offering missions to go with his maps?

There is no penalty for failing them. There is no reward for completing them. So far as i can tell, him offering a selection of maps to run could be offered without the need to tack on a mission and it would change nothing. Literally nothing.
Personally, i'd rather a reward for completing them. but pointless is pointless, and right now his missions are pointless. Last bumped on Aug 25, 2022, 10:55:31 AM

My memory is a bit hazy as I never did maps all that much;
are'nt they basically a holdover from when they were Zana missions and actually made sense? Didn't the Zana missions have a reward or something? Or at least open up interesting new options for you? His missions are bonus content. After you get your atlas passives fully unlocked they're the sole reason you might run them.

i dont think you guys are understanding the point i am making.
when you run his map, it makes no difference whether you complete his mission or not. it is just a free map. usually one chosen for completion, or mods. for example; he gives you a map with a mission to open an abyss. if you go in, kill map boss, and dont do abyss it is the EXACT SAME as if you went in, kill map boss, and DO open the abyss. when they were zana missions you got influence as a reward to buy decorations. now there is no influence. you do niko so you can delve. you do alva so you can temple. you do einhar so you can bestiary. you do jun so you can fight catarina (or whatever her name is) you do kirac so you can... do the map? one of these things is not like the others. |

I use Kirac missions to help my atlas completion early-league, and I will reroll his maps and use up missions to get Harvest. You can also reroll for conqueror/guardian maps, and rare unique maps. There are definitely use cases for him, but not everything has to have continuous viability from early maps up to end-game.

" I think I did get the point you were making. I thought that was clear. I'm agreeing with you that there SHOULD be more of a point. I merely noted that as a historical fact, the reason there isn't a reward is that they used to be the Zana missions; and rather then delete them entirely when they removed Zana, they just transferred the missions to Kirac and didn't add rewards to them. It's a sloppy, but comprehensible, game design choice. There is some minor value to trying to pick a map that has the kind of special content you want. |

The reward is the quranteed harvest/legion/breach .etc or quranteed full stack of div card or guranteed unique item drop.
