Beyond changes, depression.

Everything else aside, I'm actually pretty sad about the beyond changes. Chris was interviewing talking about how "they're just bandits and stuff painted red", but the I've always felt like the beyond mobs were pretty iconic. The shiny red jerks that swarm you in beyond maps, the occasional big beyond boss jumping out and covering the screen with crazy stuff, they're old but they were good still.

The new scourge monsters feel very bland and just kind of blend in to the rest of the game in comparison. Especially in very dark maps, it's just another swarm of generic poe demons as opposed to the shiny beyond guys. The beyond mobs having that satisfying "pop" when they die was also really nice sound direction to set them apart. Now we just have these dinky scourge guys that cast spells that visually last like a quarter of a second at most and run around at crackspeed. None of them are visually interesting compared to the old beyond stuff, it all kind of blends into the mayhem in comparison.

Just kind of feels sad to see old content that's still really fun with how the game played at high levels get the axe for no good reason, especially as a player who's been around since the beginning. I wish we could have a keystone on the atlas to be invaded by the old beyond realm instead of the scourge realm at least.

This'll probably get totally buried in the rest of the overarching complaints about the league, but I'm actually pretty sad about this and felt like yelling into the void.
