Lightning Conduit being triggered too early by Battlemage's Cry
|
Not sure if this behavior is intentional or not, but I would be very disappointed if it were. When using Battlemage's Cry linked to Lightning Conduit, the first attack you hit with will trigger Lightning Conduit too early for it to damage anything.
The order actions appear to be happening is: 1. Attack hits an enemy 2. Lightning Conduit is triggered, checks and sees that no enemies are shocked. 3. Lightning Conduit's animation plays, creating the faint circle aoe showing its targeting area. No enemies are hit by lightning. 4. The damage from the attack is calculated and applied to the enemy, shocking them if applicable The attack I am using is Sunder, with a (currently) 90% shock chance, overcharge support, and the lightning mastery that causes shocks I inflict to spread in a radius of 10. The easiest way of testing this is to simply find a solitary rare monster, use Battlemage's Cry, and then hit the monster with Sunder. Lightning Conduit's animation will play and the monster will be left with a 50% shock on them. Subsequent hits will then occur as follows: 1. Attack hits the shocked enemy 2. Lightning Conduit is triggered, checks and sees the monster is shocked 3. Lightning Conduit hits the monster, consuming the shock and dealing damage to them. 4. The attack's damage is calculated and applied to the enemy, applying a new shock to them. I believe the correct behaviour should be 1. Attack hits enemy 2. Attack Damage is calculated and applied to the enemy, applying shock if possible 3. Lightning Conduit is triggered on the enemy who is hit by the attack 4. Lightning Conduit removes shocks from shocked enemies within the area, hitting them all. The character I am using is TheSunderDownUnder in Kalandra softcore trade league. Happening to me too, verified there's a shock, have mana and the attack is able to exert. It works seemingly randomly.

Bump as my build feels like it's finally coming together, but this bug is ruining the consistency of the damage

I'm having the same problem, but I'm using Doryani's Touch with 100% shock. The events that happen to me as follows:
1. Attack with Doryani's Touch 2. Lightning Conduit triggers, no enemies are shocked, skill doesn't hit. 3. Doryani's Touch animation finishes, hitting enemies, and applies shock. This would have been good for me if the succeeding Doryani's Touch would apply shock after Lightning Conduit hits. But once shock is there the following events follow: 1. Attack shocked enemy with Doryani's Touch 2. Lightning Conduit triggers, hitting shocked enemies. 3. Doryani's Touch animation finishes, hitting enemies, but doesn't apply shock. So in summary, when you have Battlemage's cry exert charges, shock is only applied every other hit of Doryani's Touch, so Lightning Conduit only triggers half the time as well. |

I'm using Doryanis Touch too with 100% shock, looks like we're doing the same build!

After playing a bit more I realized that it's actually alternating the behaviour, so something is very bugged.
If I use all 5 charges, it will alternate: - first attack shocks, no conduit - second attack consume first shock, conduit procs, no shock applied by my attack (expected: a second shock is applied) - third attack shocks, no conduit (expected: consumes second shock) - fourth attack consumes third shock, conduit procs, no shock applied by my attack after (expected: a fourth shock is applied) - firth attack shocks, no conduit (expected: consumes fourth shock) At the very least if the first hit doesn't proc, that's somewhat understandable, as the shock isn't generate at the time of the attack. However having the subsequent attacks either strictly generate a shock or consume a shock is bugged behaviour. I don't want to annoy anyone with bumping, but this is a really breaking bug for my character. |
