Low virtual memory caused by Path of Exile and more issues
Hi,
I've noticed several issues in patch 3.19 and originally back in 3.18. Playing for just over an hour will cause a low virtual memory issue, diagnosed by windows and caused by PoE, see attachment image below. From my testing, the issue is much more prominent when changing instances often, as you do while leveling up, completing campaign, than it is in maps - why, I don't know. Additional issues I've run into and can reproduce: 1. Starting Path of Exile changes resolution to 1280x960, not my native, can't change resolution to 1280x1024, have to go fullscreen for it to apply, resets every time I start the game. 2. PoE resets my prefered loot filter to none every time the game crashes due to low virtual memory issue, doesn't remember character selection screen set to filter characters in current league. Solutions tried - Clean install of PoE, removing all residual data, including shaders, cache data, production config, deleting PoE folder so it re creates it itself, none yielding results. All of these issues have been since 3.18 at the very least. Just to mention, I have no issues with any other game or software that would point to a hardware issue. " some of the "errors" listed here is because the PoE client can't save the settings to the production_config.ini file. My guess is that you need to start the PoE client as "an administrator" to fix this or delete the file so the PoE client can recreate it. And if you have low virtuel memory error, then make sure your "windows swap file" isn't locked to a specific size + your harddrive isn't running full. |
