Trade site direct whisper comments and feedback
It's a big improvement to trade.
- Whispers in yellow come from the server. You can't edit them. This means you can trust that they haven't been modified: the buyer can't mess with the price or the rest of the message, which could put an end to price editing scams. - The item itself is chat-linked in the whisper, so everyone involved can hover it and the item in the trade window, which means even less shenanigans and confusion. - If these messages and the trade interaction itself are included in reports, it should make it a lot easier for whoever has the thankless job of dealing with scam reports, since they have much more info that they can trust hasn't been manipulated. Some feedback: - It sends the whisper in your own language. I keep getting whispers in Korean now. Not the end of the world (we can still figure it out), but it's a step backwards. - You always have to right-click the user and click "whisper" to say thanks, to copy the username to /whois to see if he's in lab, etc. It would be nice if it would autofill the last-sent-whisper, so it works like a regular whisper. - I'm not going to test this myself, but hopefully there are spam limits in place so people can't mash "whisper" on 20 people in a row. Nobody wants abusive trade whisper spam to be made easier. I know this is a hard thing to get right, without either getting in the way of normal use or being easy to circumvent. Eventually I might start refusing trades sent the old way (if they become uncommon enough), since doing that basically allows buyers to disable all of the benefits of the new system for sellers. It would be nice to eventually have an option to disable the "copy whisper" option for your own items entirely. And a side-note: you can load the trade site on a tablet, run a live search on it, and whisper right from the tablet. That means you can have a trade search open on a tablet under your monitor, look at results and whisper for them without even having to alt-tab. That's neat. The trade site is completely unoptimized for mobile (no surprise there) so it's really awkward, but maybe a simple user script could make it more usable... Last bumped on Sep 12, 2022, 4:24:34 PM

In the off chance anyone's listening, a followup:
- I only got whispers in other languages early on. I think that's been fixed. - You can ctrl-enter to autofill the last person that you direct whispered. Pretty obscure, but it's there. - This is an annoying one: you can direct whisper when you're in DND. The game won't let you whisper while DND, but direct whisper will. This means you get whispers from people you can't reply to, with no way of telling them. |

you can use /dnd to toggle dnd and then hit control + enter but yea, I agree that is less than ideal.
Anyway, this is pretty good feedback because you followed up on it when things changed for you. I agree that some of the stuff in this game, such as the chat system, could use some explaining in game. I hear google has a sentient customer service bot, maybe we could get that to help acquaint people with the chat system or something. IGN : Reamus

Also the highlight in stash is useful, especially if you have many similar items listed for sale in a tab set to a specific price. You receive a whisper that they want to buy your Watcher's Eye but you have two identical ones listed for the same price. Now which one he actually wants? If I give him the wrong one he'll accuse me of a scam or something? How do I figure out positioning? Is it counted from left to right, or from up to bottom?
Now it highlights you the item, you immediately see which one you are trading. |

" This should now be fixed as of 3.19.0g. You'll get an error message prompting you to turn off DND to use Direct Whispers. Thanks for the feedback! ✮

Well I am not that enthusiastic about this feature.
I sell while playing and it takes me a portal and time to invite and go back to my hideout. For many sellers do not respond buyers are whispering to many offers without returning to the game. This leads more often to situations where the buyer ignores me after whispering me than before. Someone mentioned a 'whisper limit' . Is there one? These changes are an improvement, but ability to trade with party members without being in the same location would be even better.
Like this: - Whispers generated by "Direct whisper" button include a link or a button inside the text. - After inviting buyer to party, you can click that link to open separate UI with your one stash tab that the whisper relates to (as remove-only tab), allowing you to move highlighted item to inventory. - Then you close the tab and initiate trade via buyer's portrait, without having to teleport out of wherever you were. Any timed mechanic or Heist/Delve is a huge inconvenience for trading as it is now. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for current changes, but this whole system is so archaic that it still produces frustration, in a similar manner to absence of aoe currency pickup or looter pets in 2022. - Above system won't work for big trades involving lots of currency stacks, but increasing max stack size outside of currency tab (at least to 20 for current 10) is another thing that should have been done years ago.
