New overcharge support gem : how does it work ?
Hi, i am a bit confused with this new gem :
![]() "Supported skill shock enemies as though dealing 500% more damage" Can someone explain me how does it work ? Do we need to put this on our main 6 link ? Or is it OK to put it with arcanist brand ( or lightning trap or orb of storm ?) to shock enemies who will receive the massive damage from our main 6L ? Thanks Last bumped on Aug 13, 2022, 8:31:05 PM

" As far as i understand this is supposed to be just tiny buff for your main dps skill. While before you would do ball lighting+curse on hit to apply exposure n stuff, now you also want this for 4% damage increase. Where it can be decent is bad lightning build. (good build would not need this in first place) 1click>2click Last edited by u4UCn5cmk7tFdghP#4216 on Aug 13, 2022, 6:19:18 PM

You link Overshock to a secondary skill, not your DPS skill. Brand, totem, Orb of Storms, etc are good options...basically anything that can keep applying shock over a duration. Builds that aren't otherwise invested in applying shock would generally benefit the most from it, whether they're lightning damage builds or not.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

Shock effect depends on the damage of the hit that applie the shock. If the hit is very weak the shock effect will be also weak. This gem allows weak damage from secondary skills to apply strong shock effects(without actually damaging enemies that hard) so that your main damaging skills do a lot more damage on the shocked enemy. Base max shock effect is 50% so getting 50% more damage instead of 5-10 is pretty neat.
