Arcanist Brand with Damage over Time
|
Why does the damage over time also decrease when using an arcanist brand? After all, for example, the great multiple projectiles support gem does not reduce damage over time. Is this how it should work or not? I think that damage over time should not change when using the arcanist brand

Arcanist brand has a generic "less damage"-multiplier, whereas GMP has "less projectile damage".

Okay, but I don't think it should work like this.

" Keep in mind that with arcanist brand your spell gets cast repeatedly by a proxy that you have to set a single time (like totems). Previously, great multiple projectiles also reduced damage over time, but then this was fixed in one of the versions. Maybe it's the same with this brand.

This was never a property of the gem, maybe back when double dipping was a thing it had the effect. That got fixed in 3.0 though and arcanist brand was invented in 3.11.

I disagree, brand arcanist has good potential, and most likely it was planned as an opportunity to cast spells through brand, albeit with damage reduction, but now, its disadvantages - greatly reduce the variability of its use.

I did use Soul Rend with Arcanist Brand as single target supplement with Chaos build some time ago and it did work somewhat well, but that was before they added mana cost for Arcanist Brand triggered spells which imo ruined the skill and does not work with it at all. It should not have mana cost for other than initial cast just as other Brands do not have any.

Yes, I also used this build and even the mana cost did not bother me, I still continued to use this build, but then they lowered the damage even more when using the arcanist brand. Moreover - there were not so many builds - which could be considered abusive, but they killed the whole direction using the arcanist brand
