Install failure: Downloaded file has the wrong hash
|
Trying to install PoE on a new laptop and I am continually getting this error:
" ![]() I've tried: 1. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling 2. Running PackCheck: " 3. Deleting Content.ggpk 4. Renaming Content.ggpk 5. Restarting PC No matter what I do, the install always fails on the same file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. " you will need to use a VPN solution to bypass your ISP cache. |

I shouldn't have to go pay for a VPN to fix GGG's issue (if that would even work).

Same problem with the same file here.
Is it possible the 3.18.1e new game installer is the issue this time? Edit: Cached version of file(s) on a web server in Western NA is broken. A VPN can circumvent this: 1. Proton VPN Website -> Download 2. New (free) Proton account using 10minutemail + asdf-esque account information 3. Start connection to Europe or Asia 4. Launch + complete ~1gb of download in the PoE downloader 5. Uninstall Proton Far from ideal. I doubt this will be addressed before Monday, though, so if you want to play over the weekend this might be your best bet. Last edited by JLuke73#3854 on Aug 13, 2022, 11:50:12 AM

I emailed support@grindinggear.com asking them to take a look at these 3 different hash error threads:
