Looks to be a shader error, try updating your video drivers and directx.

I just got this error a couple of times while changing graphic settings mid game. The game crashed a few times, and needless to say, I had to do those parts all over again.

The OP's problem is probably already fixed, your problem won't be for the same reasons, that why you DONT NECRO FUCKING OLD THREADS

Seriously 2 fucking years and your only necroing it because you think the end result means it's the same problem for the same reasons, it is not...do proper report with the error messages you may be getting including a dxdiag in your own thread.
