Am I applying Orb of Conflict wrong?

I have a pair of boots and applied Grand Eldritch Ichor to get 39-41% avoid bleeding. I also applied a Lesser Eldritch Ember. The Boots are Slink Boots ilvl86. I then created an imprint. I'm playing standard league.

I applied the Orb of conflict and it downgraded my bleeding stat.

So I used the imprint...

Did this 5 times, each single times my bleeding was downgraded.

Am I doing something wrong here? This is the first time I'm using Orb of Conflict. I watched a video guide , but nothing else was mentioned besides just applying the orb. Please help, I'm getting broke here.

You have lost the 50/50 five times.

Unlucky.
Be aware it's not 50/50. The chance is weighted based on the grade of each implicit. If you want a good chance at upping your Grand Ichor mod, you need to use an Exceptional Ember. If you are using a Lesser Ember, you heavily stack the chance to downgrade your bleeding.
TemjinGold,
thanks a lot for your reply. Expensive lesson though :D

Happy to help. If you are wondering how I know btw, this is printed on the Orb of Conflict (note the last sentence):

Right click this item then left click an item to apply it. Can only be used on items that have both a Searing Exarch and an Eater of Worlds implicit modifier. The chance of raising or lowering a modifier depends on its relative strength.
It worked now :D :D :D
Oops missed the part where you were using lesser embers. My b

While I'm happy you're happy I will say that orbs of conflict are fairly rare and usu better served on more finished items. Those boots are 2 mod with 2x t2 ... And you now can't use eldritch currency as it has both seeker and exarch implicits.

Not trying to grief you just want to make you aware as it's very easy to burn currency in this game. Heck I threw 250 alts at some armor/es boots trying for t1 spell suppression until I realized it can't roll on that base.
I wanted to finish the implicits first, because I can Imprint while the item is blue.
Next step will be Essences, but I need to save up fresh cash now :D
