Divine Ire or Crackling Lance self-cast?

DPS wise, which one is better? I wanted to try but need guidance from experienced DI and CL players. (I truly mean DPS, not clear speed)

DI or CL has better DPS and survivability overall if used on Elementalist?

They are mostly different play styles ones a big hit that takes time to set up the other is a ramping blaster.

Crackling Lance by about a mile I don't think divine ire even has "dps" just upfront damage that's honestly not that great given you have to stand still for x amount of time channeling it.

I did a divine ire ignite build in the endless delve event and one the league after that event. The single target dps just isn't that great you lose a lot of dps to having to dodge stuff / stop and start channeling.

Cracking Lance on the other hand has great scaling and fully ramped intensify does amazing damage for a self cast "normal" spell.
Thank you for the input. But doesn't Crackling Lance with spell echo lock you in one place more so than Divine Ire?

And it needed 5 cast to actually reach 3 stacks of intensity where Divine Ire already channeled more than 15.
If your worried about being locked in place I wouldn't recommend any self cast spell outside of DD or some other type of single hit ignite/degen skill.

Crackling Lance also doesn't have to be used with spell echo as a scoot and shoot play style is pretty good for clearing maps. Your overall clear speed will be faster without spell echo but your single target dps will be slightly slower to ramp.
Make sense though..

So in summary Crackling Lance is better than Divine Ire? Their setups is almost similar too right?
