SSF HC - thoughts, answering questions

Really satisfied how this league went. Now I want to share my experience before new one starts.
Hope it will be helpful to someone.
Why you are dying
PoE is a game of numbers, it's a chain of endless checks of timings, your stats and reaction. Once you reach certain ehp, damage and recovery you are good to go. In ssf hc this rule reach its peak, because failure is costly. Thats why it's always good idea to do easier stuff millionth time to squeeze 0.5% hp. Another rule I follow is always skip risky path, hunt for safe, easy and worthy content.
Atlas strategies
I will straight up voice my opinion about the best notables and when and why to allocate them.
![]() ![]() These two nodes combined open up so many things at the start. Early on you need currency, and blight maps are very rewarding. Good anoint on ring almost guranties 100% sucess rate in blight maps. ![]() ![]() Same story using two notables is very beneficial, specifically shrieking nodes to get high hp items fast. Allocating guranteed 1 essence in map is a HUGE mistake, never worth it. ![]() Very easy to grab this node. Incursion chest early on is very valuable for a hp character. ![]() I don't recommend to rush this node early on, but at some point it's worth picking up to always have acess to delve, it's one of the easiest source of maps and xp, just don't go deep focus on sides and pick up rewarding routes. IMPORTANT PART. NOTA BENE. Blocking content notables may seem like a good idea, they are not always necessary, especially early on. Base % of additional content include shit strongboxes, rogue exiles etc. Take 1 route of blocking nodes. Block only content you absolutely hate, or which doesn't have exlusive rewards. I made mistake and blocked metamorpth. You can just do it without notables or simply skip it. If you are doing it take +1 reward sample nodes and you always get something good, at least catalysts. Good idea is to take ALL legion nodes, that way you get crazy number of emblems, if your char can benefit from timeless jewel, maybe better to rush these notables.
How to feel good in SSF
It's actually pretty simple. Starting from ilevel 36 life rolls are getting much higher. It's a good idea to farm rare items for some time in crystal veins or higher area. Your progress is not only your char but your stash too, thats why early blight maps are so good. Currency allow you to craft, respec atlas and buy maps. Another thing is choosing easier route for an upgrade. Roll belt with resistance essence, roll ilvl 44 rings for max hp roll early on, set up filter to highlight white weapon bases and transmute them, collect harvest +2 random mods crafts. The list goes on. Last edited by MCSMvsME#0476 on Jul 28, 2022, 4:01:05 PM Last bumped on Aug 9, 2022, 1:09:19 AM

Biggest single tip for SSF: pre-roll 20 maps or so and slam them back to back. Then you can take a break in hideout, inspect your gear, figure out what to do next. Took me years to figure out how much time I was wasting by not doing this.
Biggest tip for HC besides a logout macro: if anything feels wrong about the map you're in, maybe you get chunked immediately, just fucking ditch the map. Maps are literally free, it's not worth it. Even if you just spawned some mechanic you want you'll get more. Not worth it. OK I have a couple of other HC tips: * Stay at a particular map tier until you haven't been "chunked" for a few hours. Maybe even an entire day. Then you can try bumping up to the next tier. Obviously when you've literally just entered maps you can progress a little faster. * Don't ever stop moving (unless your defence is based on this) I have a massive list of specific things to avoid/be careful of but I'll leave it at these basic/general things. (Note: I only played a couple of SSFHC leagues but I did get a lvl 100) Last edited by Userbla#2018 on Aug 8, 2022, 4:06:55 PM

" The best tip ever. Also delve mods can be dangerous, worth checking them from time to time. |
