Sick of these long lasting chilled ground dots
|
Why do they last so long?
The mobs are long dead. I just want to interract with the damn syndicate members, harvest crops or loot the items. Why do i have to wait 12 stupid seconds for the ice dot ground effect to stop. It lasts so long and it adds nothing to the game. Just make it last 3-4 seconds, not fucking 12 seconds. Last bumped on Jul 20, 2022, 1:07:36 PM

" Have you tried using the pantheon? There are pantheon options to directly negate chill. ![]() Otherwise, pick up a little chill reduction (or immunity) in your gear/auras/jewels/passive tree and it should help any slow down you may be experiencing. You can also easily negate chill trivially with flasks. Further if none of these options are accessible to you and you're taking cold dot dmg, the simplest solution is to bring an appropriate life flask with you. Hope this helps. Sorry, looking to really help you out here: I decided to check your characters and I noticed you are wearing a Mageblood. If you're having problems with chilled ground then it should be hopefully obvious how you can negate chilled ground entirely with a single flask.

OP mentioned DoTs when talking about chilled ground, as in the ones that leave chilled ground that can also deal lots of damage to you.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" Im 100% ailment immune, the chilling ground dot still does damage. |

" LOL i dont have a problem with it. Im immune to ailment, the dot is the annoying shit. Its not like i die to it. Im just sick to wait 12 seconds for it to go away before interacting with syndicate members/looting/harvest seeds. How hard is it to understand? There is no reason why it lasts so damn long. Its not more deadly because it lasts long, its just more annoying and time consuming. Last edited by Krayken#1299 on Jul 19, 2022, 8:16:16 PM

" All I'm saying is that it's okay to be frustrated but instead of raging, there's ways to constructively solve the annoyance. What you're probably encountering is frost beacons (which as I understand is a monster version of cold snap), otherwise your ailment immunity should negate chilled ground for you. In your case, if it's that much of a hassle, I'd pick up a Sapphire flask and replace your Sulphur flask with it. Mageblood it up for the 20% * increasededed effects cold damage reduction. You could also try an iron flask (without mageblood triggering it, obviously) which will give you some minor amount of ward which negates or reduces a good number of ground degens in the game. As a VLS enjoyer, I've run with Starlight Chalice + used when charges are full. This is more that enough to mitigate a lot of the post-death degens. ![]() If you didn't already know, you can interact with many of the in-game objects at a distance. A good example is harvest: you don't have to be on the disperser pole. Though, for me personally, I usually go pick which harvest dispersers I want (or don't care about) then run in a loop in the harvest area, popping+killing each node I want to kill. By the time I get back to the first node, there's never any degens: even if I'm killing just 2 or 3 of the nodes. Yet another unpaid Path of Exile 2 Alpha Tester.

OP is talking about Cold Snap, which is a cold Damage Over Time spell that certain enemies can cast and leave behind on death. And OP isn't complaining that the effect is too powerful or dangerous, they are simply saying that the spell effect should be removed sooner so that players don't have to stand around for 10 seconds, not playing the game, before they walk over and interrogate Syndicate members, place Expedition bombs, etc. And it's a valid complaint: when the effect doesn't actually create any additional challenge or gameplay, it's just a speed bump which is in the way and annoying. Asking for the effect to go away faster when the enemy which created it has been dead for 10 seconds isn't unreasonable, especially since there are zero counterplay options in Path of Exile for dealing with Cold DoT because it is not an ailment.
Can we all please stop gaslighting and straw manning now? The level of discourse in this forum gets worse and worse every league, we don't HAVE to be Reddit. We can choose to be better than this, and have conversations like adults. |

" Exactly! Im not complaining about chill effect, the or how the dot is too dangerous, im complaining about the useless, abnormally long duration of the dot. Making it 4 seconds instead of 12 seconds wouldnt change anything but remove the annoyance. As you said it better than I did, a mob's effect shouldnt still be in effect 12 seconds after his death.
