Crafting advice for a RF Inquisitor helmet

Good evening. I am a noob crafter. I have been using this in my RF build:

But I recently found another helm and thought I would play around with crafting for fun. Rather than going an expensive route with essences or fossils, I just did the augmentation/alteration route and ended up with the following:

I am wondering what the next steps would be. In general, I assume I have to regal it to become rare, then multi-mod at my bench. Thinking of "+1 socketed AOE gems/increased area of effect" and something else (maybe life?). If the regal adds a prefix, how do I fit this all in? Hoping I don't have to risk an annul which may remove the concentrated effect.

Also, when throwing the blue helm into my crafting bench, it seems that I can't craft more damage, like fire damage over time. Is that because the concentrated effect blocks it out?

you cant craft on the blue helm because its full. magic items can only have 2 mods (1 prefix 1 suffix). you HAVE to regal it in order to turn it rare, and then you can craft on it.

and then, even if it *was* rare, there are no damage mods you can actually craft on helms. they dont exist. +1 socketed aoe gems is the ONLY craft that could possibly be considered a damage mod.

scroll down the page, to the 'crafting bench' section, to see all the mods possible that you could craft on this es/eva hat.

i know you said you just want to do 'cheap' crafting, but multimod costs 2 exalts. and this hat isnt worth spending 2 exalts on. you would be more likely to get a good hat for less cost by just spamming essences of horror.

Are you saying its bad because of the base (evasion/energy shield)? Or because I can't get another dps stat? Just trying to understand. Because I hit the two spells I needed for the helm. Anything else is just gravy. Unless I am missing something.
im saying its not worth multimoding because you're limited to crafted mods for the remainder of the helm

you could instead buy this, for sale right now:

for less than the 2ex it costs to multimod, and still craft the +1 aoe gems mod. and save yourself .8 exalts.

because if you regal your helm, and get a prefix that isnt life (or is a low life roll), you cannot craft both +life AND +1 gems. so you'd have to start all over.
