Some blighted maps do not spawn towers near the pump

So it's been a while since I wanted to create a thread about this issue and today I rushed here after losing a blighted map. It is so frustrating that sometimes there is just not enough towers near the pump to defend it. One could argue: ''Well, there are towers far away, so you can activate it and choose a defensive mechanic.'' Tell you what, they DO NOT activate if you are not near them!!! Why??? One could also argue: ''Well, just kill monsters yourself so you don`t lose your map.'' Tell you what, isn`t blight a TOWER DEFENSE mechanic? Of course I also attack, but now that monsters in blight maps have nemsis mods, they are way tougher. One could say it`s RNG or layout, but why the lack of consistency with the tower spawn? It`s very disappointing when you can`t do anything about it and just see a boss going to the pump and dealing 60% of the pumps' health in one shot. Please guys, do something about it. It`s been years since this issue is going on and it is anti fun. Thanks.

Yep. Did a lot of blighted maps few weeks ago. Sometimes run into such issue. All towers are too far away from pump. Sometimes you may not get even a single tower between monster portal and pump. This really sucks.
In general I don't like about blight that you can't preview all paths and tower positions before starting encounter. It's counter-intuitive but it's better to start encounter immidiately and wait for first or second spreading. And only then start placing your towers.
What is your strategy? I just place empowering tower trying to cover as many towers as possible. Then build stunning tower (they are much better than temporal or petrifying), then other tower depending on situation. Prefer meteor or scout because they have good range. If there are many physical enemies I also add chilling or ice prison towers.

But I've seen much cheaper combo. You need "chilling towers can freeze" and "meteor towers drop burning ground". Burning ground ignores fire immunity and damages fire enemies (but this may be fixed in future, seems like bug).

I have the same strategy as you. Mostly stunning and chilling towers. I do add a few others, depending on immunities. Meteor and scout are great range options indeed.

Did you also notice that some bligheted maps spawn like dozens of towers near the pump, and others not a single one? I`m like, dude... Zizaran pointed out that they should always be active, no matter the distance you are from them. I do agree with him, but changing so that towers spawn more consistently, would be a great change.

What makes me sad, is the frustration of not being able to defend the pump with no towers near it, and I just get overwhelmed with so many tanky mobs and bosses, that kill the pump in an instant.
