Bonechill support question

I am using Wintertide brand and someone told me Bonechill support actually gives the most dps boost because Wintertide always Chill.

Wording says, Enemies take increased damage based on the chill effect. The base chill effect is 10% so enemies take at least 10% increased damage right?

I bought Divergent gem to get more chill effect and it says I have 53% chill effect. I also took Breath of Rime which adds 50% more cold aliment. How come Wintertide skill description still shows 153%?

Do the passives/items increased Chill effect improve Bonechill support damage?

Breath of Rime gives stats to your characeter so you should check the character screen (C) with chosen Wintertide skill. Skill popup tooltip shows just skill related mods.

They improve these two

Enemies Chilled by Supported Skills increase Cold Damage taken by Chill Effect
Enemies in Chilling Areas from Supported Skills increase Cold Damage taken by Chill Effect

I'm not sure how relevant is this considering some Archnemesis mods that have reduced ailmet effect. And even before 3.18 Bonechill wasn't the best support for Wintertide brand.
So if Bonechill gives Wintertide 153% improvement on chill effect, does my chill slow down to 15%? That's only 15% increased damage taken?

I don't think Wintertide skill description reflects my passives/items. My character description shows I have 100% chill effectiveness.

Does that mean I have 253% or it's 100% plus 53# from bonechill support?

Let's not add hundreds like this.

So your character screen shows you have 100% of chill effectiveness, 53% comes from the skill and 47% from other sources. It will result in 20% chill magnitude (20% reduced action speed). I'm ommiting enemies ailment defences here. And yes this means 20% increased damage taken. Elemental Focus doesn't allow Wintertide Brand to chill, your Bonechill currently is just a 13% damage multiplier.

It's better to link Bonechill to Vortex or something else utility. You'll get increased damage taken bonus anyway.

Like you can chill enemies with Vortex + Bonechill for 14% magnitude Chill, the condition is satisfied (Enemies Chilled by Supported Skills/Enemies in Chilling Areas from Supported Skills). Then you chill it with stronger magnitude from your main skill, let's say 30%. The initial Chill is still hanging, it's just overshadowed by a stronger one. Since the enemy has increased Cold Damage taken by Chill Effect property, it'll get 30% increased Cold Damage taken. This is working while the initial Chill from the skill supported by Bonechill (Vortex) is hanging on the enemy so you should reapply it regularly.
I am pretty sure Wintertide always chill even if I have Elemental Focus support.

Yes, Vortex has better chill but sometimes I don't want to run into the crowd. I may put it on Cold Snap.

Thanks for the answers.
