Secrets of Suffering and Bonechill support

Hello!

I'm currently working on a cwdt ward/ice spear/elementalist build and other people's builds on poe ninja left me a bit confused.

I see a lot of people using secrets of suffering or leadership's price with bonechill support.

From what I read on the wiki, and from my limited understanding, bonechill increases the damage of the other skills when the enemy is chilled right?

So is there any point to bonechill if I can't chill at all? Or is there another mechanic at play that I'm not understanding?

Maybe they are using it with Skitterbots? Since their chill works just fine with Secrets of Suffering.

Doesn't seem like it, none of them seem to have skitterbots.

It seems its because of creeping frost! It's chilling areas are not affected by secrets of suffering!
