Scion Ascendancy (Champion) Not Fortifying

I am playing a summon holy relics build with cyclone as my attack for proc'ing my relics. My class is scion, and in my ascendancy tree, I took the champion node. I recently got a kingmaker animate guardian setup and noticed that I have a fortify buff. I do not get a fortify buff from my ascendancy. Is this a bug? Is there anything I can do to check and see if I am getting fortified by my ascendancy beyond going out and hitting enemies?

Fortify used to be a buff you could simply activate by hitting enemies.

Fortify is now a stacking buff, with the number of stacks gained per hit based on damage dealt (before damage reduction) compared to the enemy's ailment threshold. If you do very little damage with hits, you gain no stacks of Fortify.

Oh, thank you. That makes sense. I only have 600ish dps on my cyclone, which would explain the lack of a buff. Maybe the spiritual aid notable would give me enough damage to get a buff. Thank you for the reply.

I tested the fortify in act 1, and it works there. I just don't do enough damage with hits to get a buff in maps. Thanks again.
