Phase Run Shockwave Support

Running Cyclone Shockwave. Phase Run doesn`t boost the first Cyclone hit right?
But what about the Shockwaves after, do they still coun`t as the initial hit, or are they followups so that they can be boosted?

This is not Wind Walk from wc3, Phase Run gives the damage buff for a duration, not for a next hit. Shockwave is a triggered skill though, Phase run gem description specifies melee skills you use yourself.

The limitation was added years ago to prevent AW totem builds to benefit from the buff. Modern "use yourself", that was spread in the curse rework update (much later), includes only self cast/attack. But I'm not sure whether Phase Run's "use yourself" also excludes triggered skills, since it has the followed clarification (it will not apply to your melee skills used by totems), which excludes only skills used by your totems.

Well, don`t you get get the buff after using a skill, meaning you get it after the first attack has been done? And then you can benefit from it, if the 2nd attack is fast enough to take advantage of the short duration.

Short and simple answer is yes. Also I got confirmation that triggered skills also benefit from Phase Run phys buff. So if 0.2 sec is enough for Shockwave to trigger, it will be boosted as well as first (or few) Cyclone hit.

Just in case you're interested in how totem builds used to benefit from this, technically melee phys boost affects you all the time you have Phase Run buff (1.8 seconds by default). So Phase Run buff gives you
– % increased Movement Speed
– % more Melee Physical Damage
– % increased Stealth
– Phasing (you can run through enemies, enemies still can't run through you)

Performing any skill replaces this buff with another buff – Phase Run Damage. This one gives you only % more Melee Physical Damage bonus and lasts 0.2 sec by default.
