Hopeshredder + Graven's Secret

Is the Hopeshredder bow that causes damage to self per frenzy charge bugged in some way or am I wrong in thinking that the damage it deals to me should be at least partially recouped from the Graven's Secret belt.

As it stands, I can recoup the damage I take from enemies, but it seems that self damage from the Hopeshredder bow doesn't get recouped.

Check the help text for recoup. Only damage taken from hits can be recouped, and hopeshredder does damage per second.
