Expedition Mob One Shot Through Energy Shield

I am currently playing a Low Life / ES build with a Shavs on.
Yesterday I was killed by an expedition mob while I still had almost full Energy Shield. This happend 3 times in a row on the same expedition. Today it just happened again where I an randomly just dead but I still have an almost full Energy Shield pool. Also when I died there was not a single mob on screen and no visible attack was made...
