Windows sound displayed when pressing alt + any key

Hi, i'd like to apologize here first before you read since english is not my primary language

There is a windows notification sound popping off everytime i press alt + any key, like alt + a or alt + z.

That always happened as long as i can remember but never bothered me because it used to be a mistake pressing those keys since i had no keybinds allocated to those.

But now, since Sentinel came out, there is another 3 new button to press. And lazy me need ans want to put those three new buttons on alt + a, z and e. So the boring now hits, everytime i want to cast them, there is three popping windows sound iritating my ears.

I tried to contact the windows support who told me that i couldn't change any windows setting to prevent that sound from happening on the PoE game.

I play PoE via Steam and still hadn't manage to find any sound triggering option on any of the steam parameters.

So i'm asking you out to try and help me figure out how to remove that terrible sound from my ears.

Poke aorund a bit and see if any of those links may help. Also, are you using anything like Awakened POE trade etc?

Hi, thanx for your answer, yes i'm using awakened poe trade, but it wasn't running when the sound occured.

I figured out that the sound does not run if i keep any of my mouse button pressed when doing the alt + key

I think i figured it out. As per usual, windows suypport team is absolutely irrelevant.

The thing is i play Poe in window mod bu habit. Windows sound was occuring because alt refer to shorcuts that you cant use in PoE and that was why it was making a sound.

I figured wichi one of the trigger was doing it and i found it, but i dont know if that triggers for other things. I guess i will never know.

If someone ever find that thread and having the same issue, solution is to go on sound settings on windows and put the (cant tell how it's written in english but in french it's "Son par défaut" so i'm assuming that it's "default sound") and you have to put it on the no sound thing at the bottom of the window.

Pressing alt+ any key no longer triggers a sound on any windowed program.

This post saved my life, Loving POE but this sound was triggering me hardcore. thanks a lot.

I just changed my keybinds again and started using the Alt-key and was having the same issue. Because of your post i had a quick solution to that. Thanks a lot :)
