Game Freezes/Crashes when I try to launch it.

I just updated my client, and now when I try to launch the game, I get a black screen with the PoE custom cursor. Nothing happens until I click the game, then I get the windows error thingymabob.

I also kind of get this. The game hangs for about 10 seconds on startup. If you click you get the "not responding" Windows dialog.
The game also no longer shows the grinding gears video intro. It just goes straight to the menu after thinking for 10 seconds. This only started with the latest patch. |

I currently face the same issue. POE just needs very long to start up since the latest patch. Nothing else has changed on my PC substantially.

I'm out of ideas on what to try with this. Is a future patch going to fix this? I feel like I've tried everything except a full format on my PC, which I'd rather not do. :(
