Explanation of Ban/Appeal

Good afternoon,

I am the owner of this poe account and another poe account that has recently been banned (around 2 weeks ago).

I've reached out to the support team by using the "Appeal Ban" option, but it was rejected without a proper reason. The only reason I was given was the original reason for the ban which I still firmly believe to have been a mistake.

As someone who has been playing on-and-off since open beta, I've never had an issue with my account (never been locked/banned) and was surprised when my the account I wanted to use as an aurabot got banned.

To recall the events leading up to the ban, all I did was transfer some items/currency from my this (my main) account to my new account. This was so I could continue partaking in 5way rotas as an afk on my main account while I continued to trade/search for items on my new account. Furthermore, the main reason why the new account was created was so I could have it setup as an aurabot that could help 5way hosts for free entry and/or use it as a support character when I decide to solo mf juiced content.

I have been firm on my stance that I did nothing wrong that goes against ToS and have emailed the support team multiple times for more clarification. If there is evidence to support the ban, I believe that I should at least be made aware of it so I do not make the same mistake. Nowadays, I'm playing the game in constant fear of being banned and unable to make a new account since I fear that I will once again get banned if I were to transfer my items/currency over.

Also, now I am unsure of whether I should even buy GGG points for any future accounts (for specialized stash tabs; mainly currency tab) since they are at risk of being banned for absolutely no reason if I were ever to transfer items/currency over to it so I can have an easier time levelling and playing the game.

The worst part of it all is that when I kept reaching out to the support team via email and the official PoE website, GGG has decided to lock my account completely. This means that I am unable to access my new account entirely. If I try to log onto the PoE account, I am locked out. Pretty much, they decided to silence me and literally took away my ability to express my concern and side of the story.

I find it very counterintuitive and almost regressive that GGG's stance on bans isn't to educate the player base of why they were banned, but simply, "This is our game. I know you deserved to be banned. I will not show you the proof we have to support the ban. No human mistake could have ever been made."
This is almost synonymous to you driving your car and then getting pulled over by the cop. The cop tells you that you are speeding and writes you a ticket. You tell them, "I believe I was following the speed limit. Could you show me what was recorded on your speed gun/radar?" Then the cop tells you, "No, I cannot show you the evidence. We know that you were speeding and guilty."

How can we be certain that no mistake was made by your auto-detection system? Is your system 100% accurate with their bans? Have no bans ever been overturned? I recall that a very prominent figure in the PoE scene, Varga of TFT Discord was recently banned for real money trading. However, he was unbanned shortly after. Why was an exception made to him when the ban was applied by a human admin that had checked over the evidence and thought that a ban was warranted, but was later reversed?

I believe transparency with the player base is one of the biggest factors in improving a community driven game, and to blatantly ignore and refuse to educate a player who has reached out multiple times is just upsetting.

Sincerely,
Player who has played since closed beta

Hey there, LePvPMaster!

I'm afraid we aren't able to discuss account-related issues through the forums. However, I've passed your concerns on to a senior member of staff who will review your message and contact you shortly about this privately. We appreciate the feedback!
