Macro Question
Hi,
I've been searching in the forum and Reddit if it was allowed to use a macro to bind my mouse left click on the mousewheel, i found some old stuff and didn't get the answer right, some people say its not, some say it is ok. I'm used play D3 and use the Force Movement bind on the mousewheel to move in the game, Is it something bannable or it is allowed to use as a macro in-game? Last bumped on May 3, 2022, 2:04:02 PM

As far as I am aware, it is allowed so long as
-it only executes one server action per input -it always executes the same action for the same input -it does not automate cursor position -if it is bound to the scroll wheel, the scroll wheel is not unlocked as it is possible on many Logitech mice for example. Since not every player may have access to such a mouse, it would give an unfair advantage to those who do was the reasoning that I read about at some point. So if you just bind left click to the mouse wheel and lock it if it is an unlockable variety, that should be allowed. |

As long as the mousewheel isn't 'unlocked' or free-scrolling, you are allowed to bind left mouse to it. This is because GGG's rules are that one user-side input equals one server-side input - if you flick the scroll wheel (1 action) and it spins lots and sends lots of clicks (>1 action) then it's not okay.
I know Empyrian does it lots on stream so be confident that it's okay. |

For macro questions I generally refer to Sarno's Macro Guide. It's not infallible nor endorsed by GGG, but as far as I know everything is true. Where possible he links to sources clarifying various rules. Everything DER_PSYCHOPATH mentioned is in line with what I recall.
