Orb of Horizon should have Result Diversity
Currently, the Orb of Horizon (OoH) produces only selected a few maps of the same tier. For the tier 16 maps of the Archnemesis league, only the Ashenwoods, Port, Summit, Crimson Temple and Dungeon map show up. I don't understand the purpose of the OoH.
I think that the resulting maps of OoH should be all the maps of the same tier except the unique maps and the Vaal Temple map, as its description. Last bumped on Apr 30, 2022, 1:17:13 PM

The purpose of Orb of Horizon is to:
a) make the atlas completion way easier since it can only roll natural maps at that certain tier (Ashen Woods doesn't exist below T16). b) allow you to change the map for Elder Guardians and Elder Slayers. c) swap a Shaper Guardian map to a different one. Orb of Horizon isn't there to allow you to skip 95% of all maps. You can use the "favoured maps"-system for that. |

" No. you can't use the orb to change to another Elder Guardian or Elderslayer map as it is coded as implicit It currently able to change the base map however. It should change the other guardian maps tbh but yeah I think they already have a role and its a good one.
Its to help you fill out the atlas efficiently, they have been devalued by Kirac though so maybe some new functionality would be a good idea. |

" Why not? Players do not use un-favored maps, anyway. They become garbage data during the league and after. The Orb of Horizon too. Why not use them meaningfully until the league end? Aura-bot demigods would not use the Orb of Horizon. Using the OoH means time loss for them. They would simply toss both of them into the stash, or ignore them at the time of drop, or even remove them from the list of drop filter. My suggestion aims for the benefit of casual players who play the PoE an hour or two in a day. To let them enjoy favored maps. |

Orbs rolling only natural maps in a tier is the best thing about it, it would be way to random otherwise with this many maps.
There are a 100 ish maps or so? no idea honestly, but that would make getting the map you want a 1/100 even with my playtime and having harb on every map i doubt i reached over 2k orbs meaning i would have run out after only 20 maps, no way any casual has this many orbs so they would run out after only 1 or 2 maps. And orbs do remain usefull untill end of league by letting you roll guardian maps into either other guardians (shaper) or better layout maps(elder/conq). " Which is exactly what I wrote and the reason why Shaper Guardian maps where mentioned under their own point because they behave differently. |
