PS4 & PS5 Controller Does not work on PC?

I have tried using both a PS4 and a PS5 controller to play PoE on the PC. Both times, it detects there is a controller connected but it does not register any input from either controller. Do I have to use an Xbox One controller??? Why is this not listed on any official posts?

I'm running into the same problem, except that it's not even detecting a controller. My controller works on other games both through steam and through their own launchers.
