PS4 performance issues

Dear GGG,

first of all, I really love the game, thank you for giving us this great experience!

I unfortunately only have possibility to play on last-gen console (PS4). I know that this isse was already reported many times, and there were some recent updates (eg. not rendering filtered loot) which made the game run smoother, but unfortunately the performance is still really poor.

I got lucky there, but usually I die to these game freezes. I know that there are tons of stuff to process, calculate and render, and the PS4 just cannot keep up, but can you please do something about this?

I would not even dare trying the same map with 100% delirium, I could not even leave the portal area without dying instantly to a game freeze.

(I also know the standard answer here: switch to PS5. That is not really an option for me, and for many other players I believe.)

This is why a lot of us didn't want GGG to put resources into porting the game to xbox and ps4. It puts a hard cap on what they can introduce to the game since more stuff will make the game completely unplayable on those consoles.

On one end you get a miserable experience and on the other end we get less potential fun on pc. It is a lose lose situation. At this point they should just withdraw from the entire console approach but alas the best we can hope for is them phasing out ps4 and older xbox +older PCs from list of minimum requirements and move on.

Then again I guess they might do that with PoE 2.

Thanks for the reply, but I disagree. There are tons of potential still in last-gen consoles, I do not think GGG would let go of this income easily.

There are other possibilities, eg. prior to patch 3.16 there was only one betrayal encounter per map, but the amount of loot were tripled. I could live together with similar solutions for example, where you get a lot less monsters per map, which are stronger, as well as drop more loot, if that would increase the performance. You can still have the same challenge, but it would not feel unfair to die and loose portals in these situations.

Then you "master PC race" and us "console peasants" may also have fun at the same time :)
