Challenge: make a decay build

I thought a chaos themed witch would be cool, power siphon, decay, chaos golems. But yea as you guessed it, not viable.

I managed to get 300k decay dps with despair on hit ring, perfect chaos dmg rings, gear, all everything simulated but the dmg just stays too low.
Also barely 6k ehp life/es is low. No block, armor, nothing.

With pob crafted godlike cluster jewels I get up to 500k dps,
but that shit would cos like 50 ex so no deal.
And still zero defensive layers.
Decay can't be this bad and useless, can it?

Is anyone able to make a proper build,
that meets these minimum requirements:

- Witch using..
- Powersiphon..
- with Decay

I'm using swift affliction, cruelty, energy leech and vicious projectiles,
seem to be the best and only gems to buff decay dmg.

There’s a well known interaction between storm burst and decay where the duration based scaling of storm burst’s explosion damage also applies to decay. This is how you’re able to build decay up to more respectable numbers.

That said, the last time I ran a decay build was in Ritual league and I did it with impending doom. At the time the more multiplier for doom was generic and applied to decay. I had around 500k dps in really shitty SSF gear.

Get a lvl 35 decay shako

A long time ago, when the mod was available only as weapon modifier, I used it with Soulrend, it was quite good. Was like 30% more chaos damage per second.

Forgot it exists... went from 450k to 1,4 mill.
BUT, I don't have 15 ex.

Still, this would make it work.
