Path of Building infected with IDP.generic malware?

First time AVG detected that. Used POB many times in the past and AVG never alerted me of that. Downloaded most recent update and BOOM! That popped up?

TBH AVG is more malware than PoB ever would be :P But ye this is false positive or people would go bananas xD

My opinion is radical but I have never had an useful antivirus, many times I reformat my pc, and one time I stopped installing antiviruses and many other so called essential applications for pc health, and my pc stops dying, it runs like a mad horse, I can play games, I can google chrome without crashing, my fan is quiet, nothing is screaming at my face, telling me to buy their upgraded software for full pc health protection.
I have no knowledge of pc systems, what I am telling you is based on my personal experience for 15+ years. |

" microsoft provides AV for free(windows defender) with windows these days, you only notice it really if you attempt to download something likely infected as it notifies you that it quarantined it. so I wouldn't call your opinion radical. |

The existence of AV software makes even those people who don't use it safer. Virus designers have a harder time of it because they have a smaller target to hit. Kind of like vaccines. You get protection from other people using it.
