Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support doesn't +1 to Level of Supported Active Skill Gems

Hello,
the support gem "Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support" is not doing its job. The "+1 to Level of Supported Active Skill Gems" only isn't working on Essence Drain and Caustic Arrow. Theoratically it should work. (Empower has the same information of plus a skill gem) Strangely it works on something like Barrage... I tried it with another "bow". It works on some another bows, i think.
But it doesn't work on my bow. The damage boost for caustic arrow on my bow doesn't appear. Same goes for Essence Drain. IGN: @TheWindir

Oh no sorry, it seems like it does work, sorry!
My pierce support just applies more damage than the Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support, so i thought it doesn't work. Sorry again. Nevertheless it's really strange, that Pierce Support is making more damage plus than the "+1 to Level of Supported Active Skill Gems" of Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support. The effectiveness of an added level to skill gems with their own base damage is valuable, but faces diminishing returns eventually.
Without Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support, it looks like you're already taking Caustic Arrow to level 32. Checking the wiki, adding 2 more levels onto that is about 12% more damage to the damage over time, compared to over 20% more from Pierce Support. The other aspect of Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support is flat chaos damage, which won't factor into the damage over time of the caustic ground created by the skill. |
