How to prevent Simulacrum Lag?
|
I get to Waves 20+ and I can't even see what's going on. My PC specs are beyond what should be required. I turned all the graphic settings down to low. Still. I just die because I can't see what's going on. It freezes and skips frames etc.
What's the point of implementing this into the game if the graphics cannot be handled? How do you actually finish a Simulacrum without your computer dying? It's so stupid and this has been an issue with the game for YEARS. wat Last bumped on Mar 31, 2022, 11:00:20 AM

Hmm I run 6 man simulacrum just fine and that is with a minion build as carry while using a 980 gfx card. There is no reason a newer computer should have issues with this. Try updating your drivers. Do you run enough RAM(to prevent assets having to be dumped/loaded in mid waves)? If you use radeon you might wanna try Vulcan renderer. I have a feeling the game still works better on nvidia gpus. Do you run the game on an m.2 SSD or the very least an SSD? Also make sure that SSD is not more than 75% full as the perfomance may tank.
Before starting the Simulacrum you can also hit Ctrl+Shift+Windows key +B. That restarts your drivers without having to restart the game. That helps for some. These are all small tricks to troubleshoot the issues. |

" Thanks for the feeback! Ryzen 7 3rd Gen 3700X (3.60GHz) 16GB DDR4 512 GB PCIe SSD m.2 (half full) 1 TB Barracuda SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti I can run everything on high all the time. I've been running the Vulcan renderer too. It's just during Simulacrum that it's been an issue. wat

Often PoE is CPU limited rather than GPU limited. I'd suggest turning off sound entirely (--nosound launch option), since it's a CPU hog in GGG's game engine.

" I have a GTX 980Ti, i7 4930k OC @ 4.2Ghz, 16GB 1866Mhz. I can get up to wave 30, but I have lag and my FPS drop down to below 15. I use all settings as low as possible, including resolution. The truth is that this game is extremely poorly optimized. The only hope is PoE2. |
