Can someone explain brittle and what to put in for POB?
"Brittle is an Elemental Ailment associated with Cold. Hits against brittle enemies have up to +15% chance to critically strike afflicted enemies, based on the Cold Damage of the Hit that inflicted this ailment, for 4 seconds.
Brittle's magnitude is given by the formula: 25 * (Damage / ailment threshold)^0.4.[1]" What would I put in POB for the "effect of brittle"? Last bumped on Mar 29, 2022, 1:01:03 PM

It depends on your damage tbh you could crunch the numbers in the ailment threshold but its probably faster to just look at the buff when you hit a boss and work it out from that.
It ranges from 5-15% AFAIK, if your talking about your LS Juice Berserker its gonna be 15% on everything that isn't a boss and probably 5-7% on a boss i'd guess, you can crank this substantially with any effect of non damage ailments you've got though. " As far as I can recall, the minimum value is 1%. If the minimum value was 5%, it would require over 5 times as much damage to inflict the minimum brittle as to inflict the minimum chill. Guaranteed sources of brittle such as the "brittle on block" shields or the brittle ground from the new eldritch implicit modifier on boots inflict brittle with a base value of 5%. |

Your right mate I was thinking about the auto values from brittle boots and the shield good catch. I still expect OP's values you to be in the range I suggested though its pretty easy these days to get a solid ailment effect even on a boss. |

its very hard to know what values you will have on bosses and things you actually care about dealing a lot of damage to. the easiest way to figure it out is to go fight the boss in the game and look at status bar and see what it says, then put that value into pob
same thing goes for shock values, or any other damage increasing status ailment Last edited by jewdas12#5648 on Mar 28, 2022, 4:08:35 AM

So let me get this straight: if I see 15% brittle on the boss, in POB I put in 15 for the "effect of brittle"

" Correct. And it should be a substantial crit increase. You can nearly crit cap yourself with a max effect brittle. |

I use brittle ground implicit for my cycloner and have to add +5% crit for pob to use it properly.

"Without increased critical strike chance it does not get anywhere near the cap, and with it you can actually reach the crit cap fairly easily rather than just "nearly". Even if your base critical strike chance is 5%, you can get 100% with just 400% increased critical strike chance if you inflict a 15% Brittle debuff, whereas many builds have had 600-800% without using Brittle. |
