Spell suppress and shock
Gentlemem, do I understand correctly that the shock applied by hits with 100% spell suppression, instead of, for example, the effect of a maximum of 50% will be 25%, since there was no half of the damage. As with other sources of ele ailments, half of the damage will also be cut in half, like burning.
And do I understand correctly that the suppression does not apply to a burnin' and shocked ground? Last bumped on Mar 21, 2022, 6:12:16 PM

Not exactly. If it takes a 5,000 damage hit to shock you for 50% then a 10,000 damage hit will still shock you for 50% since that is the shock cap.
In this example if you had 100% spell suppression you still take a 50% shock since you still take 5,000 damage. It could help to reduce the shock but it does not necessarily cut the effect in half. It also does nothing against ground effects like burning and shocked ground. Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Mar 21, 2022, 5:20:52 PM

" The maximum shock on you does not change, and neither does the shock effect based on the damage you actually take. However, since you do take half of the damage you would have taken otherwise, the ailment effect is around 75.8% of what it would be otherwise due to the way ailments are scaled. So if a hit would have dealt enough damage to inflict a 20% shock, it would deal half as much damage and inflict a 15% shock instead. As gladiatorpie mentioned, ground effects are not spells that can be suppressed so the status effects they inflict are not affected by spell suppression at all. |
