End-game target stats
|
Hello everyone,
This league is the first time I’ve completed the main storyline, and I have a few questions about stat targets. First, I’m playing a ranger, and went with the raider ascendancy tree. My character is currently level 80, and I’m having trouble with getting destroyed by some of the maps content. Once I started running into this issue, I did some passive tree refunds and focused on defense-type skills. Right now, my operating stats (with grace, but no other auras) are currently as follows: Life - 2,561 Mana - 827 Energy Shield - 107 Armor - 3,704 Evasion - 62,554 Fire Res - +51% Cold Res - +72% Lightning Res - +57% Chaos Res - +26% Spell damage suppression chance - 97% Ignite, Chill, Freeze, and Shock avoidance - 100% for all Movement speed modifier - +120% My current build gives me permanent Onslaught as well as Phasing, and my approach has mainly been to just keep moving as much as possible to avoid being hit. DPS hasn’t really been much of an issue, except for with some map bosses and strong archnemesis enemies. The primary issue has been just getting my ass kicked excessively fast against some enemies. This hasn’t yet prevented me from progressing in the atlas, but I do almost instantly get killed by any enemies from the Immortal Syndicate or Einhar’s beasts, and I frequently fail out of incursions into the Temple of Atzoatl. This has led me to basically avoid those encounters and never to use the map device to add them to a map out of concern for failing the map. I’m currently around map tier 6-7 unlocked, and have 34/117 points earned for the atlas skill tree. I pretty much exclusively play solo. What are some recommended target stats for a solo ranger at my point in the game? Any other tips are welcome, and would be greatly appreciated. Last bumped on Mar 21, 2022, 5:00:13 PM

You should have wayyy more life and your resistances are not at 75% or higher.

So what amount of health should I target? I have all the health passives in the passive tree near the ranger’s starting point, so any advice how to get “wayyy more”?
Are other stats too high? Should I redistribute points into evasion passives to reaching into other class’ areas of the passive tree to pick up more health? Also, how the hell do I get all resistances over 75%, seems almost impossible with the -60% penalty on everything. Last edited by QuantumSatori#9983 on Mar 21, 2022, 3:32:47 PM

you get life and resists from gear.
your characters are currently hidden (if you go into account options, you can uncheck 'hide characters') and we can help you. it is basically a *REQUIREMENT* to have 75 all resists (chaos being above 0 is fine) when you start mapping. and even as a ranger, you should be aiming for 4K + life. |

" As mentioned above, gear is very important. You should try to get as much +life and +resistances as possible on every piece of gear you wear (excluding weapons, which usually focus on offensive stats). If you don't have life and res on all your gear, you're missing out. Except in very specific situations, I'd never feel comfortable under 4K life. 5K is better. This is where the crafting bench comes in handy. Don't neglect it. This is also where wearing too many uniques can hurt you, because while they have interesting unique attributes, many uniques don't provide enough of the basic stats to keep you safe. - here's my sig

" I never really have got the hang of the crafting bench. From what I can tell, it can only be used to add 1 modifier to an item, which doesn’t really seem to give much of a chance for customization. Am I missing something here? Or do you basically have to start with the perfect item that is only missing one modifier? Last edited by QuantumSatori#9983 on Mar 21, 2022, 3:54:39 PM

your character is like, 4 different characters mashed together.
pick your favorite skill, let us know. then we'll suggest gear to replace. as for life passives, you are 3 travel points away from the 'bravery' nodes (and one of those travel points is Art of the Gladiator, which is a nice attack speed node). and then 1 travel point (small attack speed node) leads into 3 more small life% nodes above it. so thats 10 passive points for: 13% attack speed 30% life 44$ increased eva + armor you can get all of those by: remove 5 points from utmost swiftness wheel. 4 points from duidic rite (need to allocate the 10 dex node by weathered hunter to keep tree connected) remove 1 small 'bow damage node' from Hunters Gambit wheel take small dex node between Intuition and Aspect of Lynx, remove 2 small 'bow damage and crit chance' nodes left of Lynx. you have too many uniques. some of them are fine for one skill but awful for another, so picking the skill you want to use will let us know which uniques you should keep, and which you should stash / sell. "It's useful if, for example, you have an otherwise good item with an open prefix, you craft +life on it. Or an open suffix, plop +resistance on it. Do that with 3 or 4 items and all of a sudden you have max res and 4K life. There are more advanced (more expensive) ways to use the bench to craft more than one mod, but to start with you should be taking advantage of the bench for any item that has an open affix. - here's my sig

" I’m not really tied to any skill, but I currently primarily use Rain of Arrows with Mirage Archer and run Toxic Rain with Ballista Totem Support for extra dps against tougher enemies. I also use Vaal Burning Arrow for those pinch situations where I needed some burst damage. I use Poacher’s Mark with Mark on Hit support, also to help against tougher enemies. I do like having the extra mobility of the dash/blink spells and was using Frostblink simply because I had already started using Int-based support gems on Vaal Burning Arrow. On a higher-level, this character was originally going to be a poison/crit build, but I noticed my skills were showing pretty solid elemental damage, so I started trying to bump that up a bit for enemies who have high resistance to a particular element. For a while, before getting to mapping, I was using Herald of Agony for quicker clears since I had started with the poison build in mind. But when I got to mapping, I started having to run Grace constantly instead, and don’t have the mana reservation efficiency to run both. Going after armor also came after getting to mapping, I thought maybe that’s what I was missing. Ultimately, I am down to head whatever direction needed with this character, since this is my first time getting close to end-game, I clearly wasn’t prepared when starting my build. |
