i am trying and failing this shit is so boring why doesn't gg add infinite delve as an alternative to acts when we reach a certain point in maps for example beating a certain boss or reaching a certain level anything to unlock alternative leveling this is just pain the early level especially is just mind mind numbingly boring and i reach act 3 and feel like going to watch paint dry out of boredom please ggg improve leveling on second characters at least and please stop the "improvements" to the acts all you do is make monsters harder we just want to fucking get this over with please and thank you and also thank god

i went back to my first one because i couldn't be arsed with leveling but this character is also so shit and i don't feel like investing currency to fix it but playing new character also sucks because of the leveling through the acts man this is really hard choice i wanna quit the league at this point because although i might miss-out on the atlas experience being this good only during this league and gutted next league because chris and ggg hates us i don't feel like playing this while not having fun is worth it

Seriously, this is valid feedback to GGG. That makes this a reasonable post in the Feedback and Suggestions forum.
My specific opinion on this feedback to GGG is that the OP makes a valid point. I too find the beefing up of the early Act monsters and challenges just a pain, a distraction from fun. For example, drops were nerfed and now it is more difficult to get life flasks in the early acts. The idea is apparently to make it more exciting when a life flask drops that you can use. I think it is BS and not improving the fun factor. I too like the idea of some way to more routinely automatically level a character like is available with Rifts in Diablo2. A continuous Delve would work nicely IMHO. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

i think theyre wrong in their assessment of alternate levelling methods etc.
i believe the reason they wont do it is because they are making poe2 and they dont want an alternate levelling method in poe2, so they wont add one now knowing we will riot at it being taken away in poe2. they believe that the answer is to make a better campaign. they are wrong imo. a campaign is a linear story, a linear story by its very nature fights against replayability because it has a beginning and an end. all the things they thnk they are adding to the new campaign that will make it awesome, all the cut aways and cinematic moments etc, those will be amazing on the first play through. on the 10th playthrough they will be the bits we are spam clicking trying to skip shouting fucking hell, get on with it fuck man i hate levelling in this bloody campaign agghhhhhhh stresss face lets go to the forum and make a shouty thread like the op has here. we need an alternate levelling method, and we need it there in poe2 as well because actually it protects the campaign. the campaign will last 3x as long before we get so sick of it we start revolting if we only have to do it once per league and can then use an alternate levelling method after. a better campaign will never be the answer. how many times did i play quake 1? a couple. quake 2? a couple. quake 4? i played it a couple of times. thats normal for a good linear story game, you play it a couple of times, were tlaking about 30 hours investment in each of these linear game campaigns. how long did i play quake3? i played it for about 5000 hours. quake 3 had no story, no cinematic moments, no long chains of dialogue etc. how come people who are willing to spend 15,000 hours playing maps that have no story suddenly become furious at the idea of playing through a 10 hour story for the 10th time? this whole idea that an alternate levelling method is more 'boring' and hence people will get bored of it... no, that is clearly not how it works. all these games and game modes that are intensely 'boring' because they are simple and have no linear story attached to them are actually the ones that stand up really well to repeating them over and over and over, its to do with the mode your brain clicks into with these where you zone out of certain levels of conscious thought and get lost in the gameplay. when you then put a quest or npc dialogue or some kind of story beat into that situation you jerk people out of that flow state, they get rapidly bored, frustrated and hate your game, because your game is getting in the way of them enjoying playing it. everything they are going to do to make the campaign better will make it worse. it will make the campaign super fun on the first play through but will be even worse to repeat over and over and over, they will not solve anything with poe2, what solvres the problem is giving us a proper alternate levelling method that does not have a story. its just endless dungeon style content, that is what the game needs for longevity, that is what will protect poe2 campaign from becoming a rapid burnout situation, we just need to find some way to get that understanding into the heads of the devs because i think its just alien to them as a concept. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" I don't disagree. I didn't say there's anything invalid about the feedback. But if he feels burnt out from his current character and also doesn't want to level a new one, he really should quit the league and go play something else. Why continue to slog through something you stopped enjoying? |

I think it is reasonable to assume that CAPSLOCKON already knows he could go play something else. He wanted to give feedback to GGG, hence his post in the Feedback and Suggestions forum.
