isn't this mod over powered for monsters? i cannot do anything to bosses which has phase and come back with full ES with this mod with my detonate dead.

Yeah depending on your build it is definitely one to avoid. Particularly bosses which can leave combat (invul phases, or burrowing, etc.).
This can be the worst mod, worse than reflect. You can put maybe a storm brand on the boss to keep doing damage and prevent ES recharge from starting, but that wont work all the time. |

I'm confused by why this is a problem as most Recharges have more than a 2 second idle timer for recharge. Unless you are going 2 seconds without doing damage, they shouldn't be recovering ES.
Also, bypassed by Chaos Damage. It's basically like 50% more Life except not. Haven't had a problem with it yet as a Cyclone + Frost Bomb + Ice Storm (Frost Bomb destroys shield functions as well) |

" Do some X + Y + Treant Horde + Rejuvenation, and you might change your mind. Not only is the regen sick, but the monster disappears every other second - and comes back with full ES :) I do around 12 million DPS (buffed) and I've met several iterations of monster I have NO(!) chance of downing, especially with the %Life as ES mod. And yes, I'm using Frost Bomb when I'm chaining recipes. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

poison/chaos damage is the solution ......

" Do you have it on autocast so that it's always on? My Frost Bomb is Divergent with 50% Q (50% Cooldown Recovery and 50% less duration) on the same link as my Ice Storm (Sacrifices 1 slot for damage but it's worth it to have two skills permanently channeling because of Frost Bomb's Spiked damage and the fact ice Storm has a limit of number of ice Storms allowed) My guess is you are hand casting and your frost bomb doesn't hit every target. Mine covers the entire screen and a half. Treant mobs die in about .5 seconds, and the primary mob may stick around a bit. My primary problem atm is simply that I'm too squishy. Never played with a Staff before, and there's simply not enough Block/Spell Block/Suppression available in the top end of the tree to mitigate not having chaos resist or a lot of Armour. I haven't went CI and only have about 3k Life and 3.5K ES atm, so some things hurt. Working on that. There's only a few ways I can really improve while also creating the build I want; I could craft a cold helm, but that's gonna cost me. I could replace my Replica Alliopathy with some crafted gloves and lose the massive single target brand damage for some more Life or ES and Chaos res. I could replace rings with rings that are cold based + chaos res with ~ 60 Int and Int % corrupts. (money). Boots I don't have many options. Atm using a Shavronne's Revelation for massive Int but making me have the same downside as Ghost Reaver (so took both). Using a Sawaqual's but I'm sure I could put a better top if crafted (again.... money) which has limited adds to ES. Currently only at 1100 Int, BUT, my build also has massively elevated Cold Damage which overall makes the build higher dps than a pure Int build, and I can probably still reach 1800-1900 without sacrificing Ashes of the Stars or the Replica Alliopathy. I will also do 50% Cold Exposure alone on final build, before considering the Penetration or cold resist reductions. I'm getting close to 12,000 damage per shard on Ice Storm, on mass clear gems, before buffing in 7+ Power Charges and 3-4 Frenzy Charges, crit damage/multi, and increased cold damages vs Chill. Hard to estimate since it's a mass clear config. I'm betting if I was using soley 1 location dps it's probably getting close to 6 mil DPS atm, with over 15 mil on the final build. Having to work sucks. The only Archnemesis combo I'm really having problems with is creating Solaris-Touched at high levels. Invulnerable + tons of magma barriers + necromancer is a bish. vs Rejuvenation, I just don't get near them (Rejuv also hard caps how much you can recover, and when mixed with things like Mana Siphoner or other localized aoe resource destroyer .... it's just a good idea to stay away). |

I didn't realize how annoying this mod was for bosses until I tried it on a non-chaos damage character. Sat there doing piddly damage between invulnerability phases before I logged out and brought in my chaos character.
