... Item for testing was not 4L, I just thought it was. I might need glasses. I started a Dominating Blow character this league and noticed some support gems I would expect to work are not applying themselves, either in tool tip or seemingly in game. For toolitp, I am looking at the icons for supporting gems, the cost of the skill, the text of the skill, and the DPS of the skill. For in game, I am looking for buffs granted or not granted on hit. This is interesting because Added Fire Damage does not have the Melee tag, undermining my previous assumption. I'll look for an edit post button so I can remove it. |

Also note that if you already have these support gems in your links, the tooltip will show that you cannot use the same support gems |

If you hover over the suppport gem while you have Dominating Blow socketed it will tell you if the support gem works with the skill gem (there's a little ui that pops up stating "Supportable Skills").
Mechanic Misconception:
Are your minions "randomly dying"? Do you have the Fleshcrafter unique equipped? If you answered "Yes" to both of these, high chance is that your minions have over 50% chaos resistance, converting 100% of their HP into ES, killing them. |
