Mirror of delirium ending out of nowhere/too early

Hi

I had this problem yesterday 3 times but not in a row on the Map Beach T16,
running with sextant mods: delirium reward bars fill 100% faster and areas contain a delirium mirror.

First I thought I was not paying attention to the fog or clicked the delirium end button or pressed the keybinding for it, but I recorded it the 3rd time and checked it. Normally I finish the map with the boss being killed before the Delirium ends.

In your video, it appears that the delirium fog stopped spreading, so you were able to run past it. Might be because you interacted with the ritual altar, which pauses the fog? But I don't have enough experience running delirium to know for sure.

I'll have to hope others can help more on how the mechanic might have bugged out.
