Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds Implicit Modifiers on Gloves
I was doing some testing with the implicit modifiers from the searing exarch and eater of worlds on a pair of gloves, the mods in question are "X% chance to Unnerve enemies for 4 seconds on hit" and "X% chance to Hinder enemies for 4 seconds on hit". I tested it out multiple ways to be able to apply those debuffs but cannot get them to proc or show as debuffs on enemies. The way I tried it was to go hit invulnerable skeletons, made invulnerable by Vaal Totem and its modifier "Other allies cannot die", and the spell used was Crackling Lance. I play a Spell Totem build so I then again tried it by unspeccing from Ancestral Bond because of its rather confusing effect of "you" not counting as hitting when your totem hits or "you" not being able to deal damage but are able to hit with the keystone allocated. The implicit modifiers dont refer to "you" in the text line so I am unsure if my totems can apply the effect. I have a few questions about all of this and was hoping if anyone could really help me out. My questions are:
Are those glove implicit modifiers bugged? If not, is there a visual debuffs something akin to the shock debuffs that is shown? Can my totems proc the debuffs onto enemies with or without the Ancestral Bond keystone? Can brands apply the debuffs to enemies? For example, Arcanist Brand with X spell to apply Unnerve/Hinder. Can I apply the debuffs using a spell or a brand with the Ancestral Bond keystone allocated? Last bumped on Feb 24, 2022, 8:35:43 PM

You could test whether it is bugged or not in pvp. Not all debuff icons are shown on enemies, but you should be able to see them on your own character if they apply.
Your totems should be able to inflict those debuffs as well because they use your skills. Even your own hits should still be able to inflict them if you have Ancestral Bond because they do not specify dealing damage; hitting an enemy for 0 damage should still work. Brands are your hits in general, and Arcanist Brand in particular triggers your skills, so the triggered spells should also apply the debuff. |

I have now tested the gloves in PvP and can very that the implicit modifiers do work. The unfortunate part is that you dont see the debuffs on the enemy so you have to assume that you have applied them and go from there. The lack of critical information like this as an indicator in game is frustrating and needs to be worked on by GGG. It didnt have to take me going to a hardly played portion of the game to test if something works, a simple visual cue would suffice.
Thank you DER_PSYCHOPATH for helping me out, and I hope this information helps others who have had similar questions like the ones I posed. |

Afaik unnerve has no debuff text on enemies.
I play Guardian all the time, "nearby allies unnerve enemies on hit", and there is no indicator or anything that shows this debuff. Same for intimidate. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me. Last edited by KalHirol#0543 on Feb 24, 2022, 8:35:55 PM
