Pantheon Bosses Not Capturing

The last several bosses that I tried to capture in order to unlock their pantheon bonuses have done nothing. I put a divine vessel into the map device, along with the correct map, kill the boss, and nothing. I'm just burning through divine vessels at this point, and I can't afford to keep buying them...

are you using old wiki locations or pressing G to make sure you are doing the correct map.

I'm searching the atlas map for bosses referenced in the pantheon, ie. search <Puruna>, Atoll map in the atlas reads, "Puruna, the challenger can be captured for soul of the brine king". I then put an Atoll map along with a divine vessel into the map device, it eats my stuff, I complete the map by killing the boss, no captured soul.

Update: I've continued competing maps normally in order to progress my atlas, and the captured soul of a random minor god has shown up inside my map device, different from the one I was previously trying to complete

Is the information given within the atlas just wrong? I'm aware that the wiki has been out of date for several leagues now.
