The way trade is implemented in PoE is abysmal. Other than that, I don't trade because I have 0 patience for assholes. But seriously now, how do people still get scammed in PoE? As bad as the trading system is, they have at least made it idiot proof. If someone gets scammed, it's 100% on them.

I wouldn't call it "idiot proof". There's lots of examples I could link. What it really is is "blame proof". GGG is off the hook. They've given players a system that is entirely free of GGG's control. You can't blame them. They had nothing to do with it. You can blame both parties in the trade, but can't blame GGG for allowing the trade to happen. That's all they want.

Thinking how much time I've wasted waiting for the guy who wants to buy something to come then accept trade...ugh, I hate trading so much but can't do anything without it

Someone similarly tried to scam me a few leagues back. I canceled trade then warned the next person in their hideout that they're a scammer before leaving.

Checking and just-quickly-hover-over-the-item-and-click-accept-assuming-the-other-guy-didn't-scam-you-because-you-are-either-naïve-or-impatient are not the same.
