How to properly use the league mechanic's "runes"
So,
i understand the basic concept of the recipies given by the game that allow you to upgrade these "rune-stones" or whatever they are called, and get the better tiers. I even got this innocence one once now, but i have the feeling i keep wasting them after that. i have heared that from this point on; its important how (what order and with what "runes") is very important to get huge drops from it. are these some kind of hidden recipes or what? how are you suppose to find there or understand how to combine these? is there some guide or whatever to understand so i dont keep wasting them all once i have them on the highest levels? well the main rule is that for the one you put in first you got the reward 4 times, while for the one you put last only once. Then you got stuff that grants lucky outcomes and runes changing reward types etc. so there is certainly a lot room for min-maxing..
but if you spend too much time thinking about it and deciding, you lose valuable grinding time way too much pressure :) IGN: Eric_Lindros

" well i saw some youtube guy putting in stuff like: mirror/treant/assassin/rejuvenator --> result huge pile of scarab and currency drops; like a freaking drop shower.... now i put in innocence and 3 other currency ones and i i only get like 3 alchemy drops; there is much much more to it and apparently beside just throwing them in there and starting with your best; apparently.... but ofc nothing is documented and to be honest i was hoping not needing youtube to understand this mechanic :) Last edited by 1869Flame#0897 on Feb 13, 2022, 3:39:05 PM

Most people use third party references.
There is a list on poedb, or in a different form here (I use that one to check what other recipes I could be doing or whether I might accidentally do a recipe that I do not want to). This tool helps in figuring out what combinations you have available, though it is not 100% reliable and you should double-check whether the detected mods actually exist in your stash. There are a bunch of others too. Additionally, Innocence-touched on its own does not have amazing rewards. Its main benefit is turning other rewards into currency, so if you add mods that already reward currency, there will not be a big difference. From what seems to be collectively known overall, the best combination for it is Innocence-touched (turn everything into currency) -> Brine King-touched (three more rewards that are turned into currency and all rewards are really well-rolled) -> Treant Horde (adds a bunch of extra rewards that also turn into currency) -> Kitava-touched / Tukohama-touched / Abberath-touched Tukohama-touched and Abberath-touched both essentially do the same as Brine King-touched in adding three rewards and improving the rolls of all the rewards (though not as much as Brine King-touched, which is why that one is in an earlier position). Kitava doubles rewards, but I have not seen any proof whether that does or does not affect the extra rewards dropped by the treants from Treant Horde. If it does, then Kitava is better. However it is worth noting that it also takes longer to assemble that combination if you use Kitava rather than just Tukohama or Abberath, and the difference in profit would have to be weighed against that investment. Finally, they also just do their good combinations in maps that have altars that have a chance to duplicate currency drops to boost their drops even more. |

" First off, I appreciate your posts answering questions others have. I've learned a lot. Could you please expand upon your above comment. Are there particular altars? I haven't seen anything in poedb (I could be blind tho heheh). Or did you mean the standard map juicing ways such as scarabs/frags? 17/04/2021 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3082616/page/1 "We tell people that Path of Exile league starts are a fair playing field for everyone, and we need to actually make sure that is the reality." " I've only just gotten into maps myself, but by alters do you mean the Archnemesis monster you fight? The specific one does not change the rewards, only the modifier runes you place in them. However, not all monsters are equal in difficulty. Runes each affect the drop pool, and the you place them in does not matter. Granted, I don't know what would happen if you pair two different "all drops are x instead" runes. The order does matter for recipes however. Recipes are combinations of 2 or 3 runes that must be placed next to each other. Upon killing the Archnemesis a new rune drops. Furthermore, combining runes in specific way yield potent results. These are not the recipes but use combinations of runes dropped from recipes. There have been several account of multiple exalts or multiple valuable uniques drop from single encounters. |

They're talking about the eldrich altars, which you can see in maps influenced by the two new megabosses.
Last one I saw gave me like a 3% chance to duplicate dropped currency... might go higher than that though at higher tiers. Украина в моём сердце

Thanks Aldones for your response.
" Ah ok! That makes sense. I've just gotten to t10 maps and have only seen one eldritch altar. Still trying to make sense of these things hehehehe. Back to mapping and learning.... Thanks kaijyuu2. 17/04/2021 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3082616/page/1
