The support gems that add weapon restrictions were intentionally changed based on player feedback to be unable to support skills that had conflicting weapon restrictions, sometime in the 3.7.X series of patches. We're aware that this prevents a niche case where they'd otherwise work (only) with Varunastra, and may change this again in future.
