Deadeye Focal Point Mark Transfer
The "Your Mark transfers to another Enemy when Marked Enemy dies" effect.
It's barely functional. - The range for the swap seems very low. - Even if there is another enemy clearly within range, sometimes it won't swap (I'm playing at sub 25ms so I doubt it's latency.. is there a hidden duration?) - The target choice on the swap seems completely random, so it'll potentially swap to a target at the opposite side of the pack to the prior - which makes targeting the Mark very awkward. All that is annoying, but the biggest two flow on problems are: 1) Because the Mark randomly goes away, we can no longer rely on the 25% less damage taken from nearby enemies effect. So the "buff" is actually a survival nerf compared to mark-stays-on-death. 2) Because the standard deadeye build is attack based projectile, reliant on mana-on-hit/leech, a 'normal' deadeye is one of the worst builds for using Mark-on-Hit support... which is the obvious solution to these problems. Even if you do make mark-on-hit work, forcing a mark oriented character to take -effect to use marks fluidly seems like conflicted design. Last bumped on Apr 17, 2023, 1:01:00 PM

boy do I regret spending four passives to get this non-functional skill...it will jump maybe one enemy and only if they're practically touching

They pretty much did a repeat of the original Deadeye at this point.
They reworked the Ascendancy saying "More things you can't just get on the passive tree" and now Wind Ward, that crappy Mirage Archer node and I guess? Far Shot are the only unique things. You can get the mark transfer on any node now but honestly it was the increase in potency that made it good. Not the other fluff. Now there's like 5 mark wheels though. Mark on Hit only marks Rares and Uniques which is what you want it on. I've never had problems with it. Assuming you're using Sniper's. Assassin's is one of those press as you go things but that's not limited to Deadeye. Wind Ward is one of their strongest perks and people pass it up all day.
