New PC build for Poe
|
I am thinking of buying this build and was wondering if its enough to play Poe at 1440p high detail allright I found no benchmarks for Poe .
Any suggestions on what I should change are welcome Cooler CPU Noctua NH-D15 Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit Seasonic Focus GX, 80+ Gold, 750W SSD WD Black SN850 1TB PCI Express 4.0 x4 M.2 2280 Intel Alder Lake, Core i5 12600KF 3.7GHz box GIGABYTE Z690 GAMING X DDR4 And alas I will be holding on to my GTX 970 as all VC in my area are way overpriced Last bumped on Jan 28, 2022, 8:07:57 AM

970 will bottleneck your system.

I wouldn't really use "1440p" and "GTX 970" in the same sentence. Sure, a 970 is more than capable of running PoE, but I wouldn't expect 1440p - and I wouldn't expect "high detail".
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I have RX570 which is similar to GTX970. It's good enough when going through acts but if you use some fancy skill combination and 100% delirium then expect to have fps drops to 5.

You probably should post your current specs too, as without changing the video card the entire upgrade seems questionable.
Say i can play the game comfortable enough on that old i5-4570 of mine, 16-20gb assorted ddr3 ram (had a 16gb kit, but one stick died so its nowhere that fast), 3gb 1060gt video card and regular sata ssd; resolution is slightly less than 1080p, all settings high with some on medium. Ain't considering any upgrade unless something dies or i can buy a new video card without sponsoring scalpers/shitcoin miners. Technically even my current dinosaur should be enough for something like 3060, if i overclock it a bit. Well the former build was doing okish at1080high detail with a3500k processor and 16gb ddr3 at 1333hz and a decent SSD but the motherboard died hence the new parts

In that case, used 1155 mobo could be a viable temporary solution (assuming its cheap enough). Personally i wouldn't consider buying CPU/MB/RAM "in advance" as they will potentially cost less by the time of GPU upgrade. That's "IMHO", of course.

I had a 980ti and it ran the game just fine. I made adjustments in the settings and no problem. You should be fine just dont expect to play the game on the highest settings possible. youl stil have fun and the game will stil look amazig
