dual totem ... skel or spork?

I'm building a dual totem witch summoner. I'm 24 now.

I've got both of my spell totems ready for 31.

I just can't decide whether to go dual spork or skeleton?

Does anyone have any familiarity with duel skeleton totems?

I plan on using duel curses with minion instability. So I figure if I have enough skeletons, dual skel totems would be pretty lethal.

I'm just not sure if I would need 2 skel totems.

The reason I'm asking is if I go with 2 skel totems then that would eliminate having to put points in both elemental and summons. I could just sink all my points into summons.

But if dual spork would be a definite dps increase and the obvious choice over dual skel totems, then I'll go with duel spork.

right now I dont have anything invested in elemental damage other then static blows. So I was hoping to get some feedback at this point before I decide which direction to go in on the tree.

Right now I'm leveling up 2 skel gems, 2 fork, 2 spark, 3 fire trap and 3 bear trap.... so I'm set for which ever direction to go in.

Any advice would be appreciated. I just want to know what would be better for end game.

I also plan on going CI so again, that's a concern because I'm not sure If I can invest enough points in elemental, summons and energy shield.

I think you'll have more success with dual spork over skeleton. I am 75 dual spork with CI and about 6200 ES currently. I still need to pick up more damage for my bear traps and spork totem, but overall I am really liking it.

Look up Dominion's dual spork guide to get a feel for what end game spork can do.

If I'm interpreting your skill gem set up correctly, you only need to level one spark and/or skellies gem, you don't need two of the same kind of gem to use dual totem.

Thank you, I was too focused on minions that I didn't think about just being a 2 totem witch without worrying about minions.

Dominions guide is closer to what i was thinking about when I decided to go for a 2 totem build.

So that answers my question... go all elemental and no minion summons.

Although I do think I'm going to deviate from his leveling spec a little and start using dual spork at 31... might be a bad idea.. but I'm anxious to just be able to use dual totem. :)

Ah yes, I hadn't thought about linking 2 totems to 1 spark and fork....


hmmm, now that raises a question... I've never done a dual totem build... do I need 2 totem spell gems? Or do I just use 1 gem and it automatically sets up 2 totems?

After looking at Dominions guide again, his gear only shows 1 spell totem gem. I didn't realize that you only needed 1.

Yep with ancestral bond you just hit your totem skill twice and you'll cast two.
