Question about Adder's Touch notable "Critical Strikes With Daggers Poison the Enemy"

The notable passive skill Adder's Touch says "Critical Strikes With Daggers Poison the Enemy". Is this an additional stack of poison that is applied along with the attack or is it only applied if the chance to poison was not rolled but the attack does crit? I would assume it's the latter, but that makes it borderline useless considering how easy it is to get chance to poison vs how much harder it is to stack crit.

Based on the wording and on this note from 2.1 ('Adder's Touch now only grants a chance to poison, rather than poisoning with every hit.'), I assume it works like this:

If the attack Poisons (from %chance to poison), then the enemy is Poisonsed once
If the attack Crits (from %chance to crit), then the enemy is Poisoned once
If the attack both Poisons and Crits, then the enemy is Poisoned once
If the attack neither Poisons or Crits, then the enemy is not Poisoned

While I agree that stacking Crit is harder than stacking Poison, getting 100% chance to poison is not trivial. An ascendancy like Assassin might want to take this node, especially because it gives some crit multi.
You can't apply more than one poison per target per hit. The poison on crit on Adder's can be a bit redundant, but it's useful for some skills that don't have poison chance baked in or doing some niche junk. It also has that +25% multiplier, so it's a worthwhile node even if you don't need the poison application from it.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
it is borderline useless, it saves you a few points on particular builds but poison has an issue where most of its nodes already give chance so you kinda end up with a whole bunch anyway.

Ideally you'd be able to take this node and path in a way where you got 0% poison chance off the tree but more power, however the reality is different.
