Righteous Fire Wand Craft Help Pls

Hi COmmunity!

I am quite new but had the immense luck of dropping a Mageblood, so I started building a RF Elementalist after CaptainLance9's POB.

I am in the middle of the crafting process for the wands but I am stuck and don't quite know how to go on. Please help me out and explain the next steps for me!


What I got so far:


iLVL 83 Demon's Horn

+1 to fire spell skills (fractured)
+1 to all spell skills
1 open prefix

34% Increased Stun Duration on Enemies
2 open Suffixes



In his POB Lance says to now lock Prefixes with Cannot be changed and hit it with Veiled Chaos. If I hit desired mod (fire dot multi suff or Fire dmg pref) I could settle for Multimod Bench.

This confuses me. If I veiled chaos orb at this point, doesn't it fill my item with unwanted crap mods as well as a veiled one? Do I have to yolo annul everything after veiling or how do I go about that?

i want to sort of stop you before you start, and ask -

why wands?

i looked at your character and didnt see anything that *needed* a wand.

and i want to point out this... funny... trait about RF. it doesnt benefit from *spell damage* at all.

which is why most rf builds wear a Scepter (ele damage implicit)

As you can tell by now, I am quite a noob still and have a lot of learning to do.

But let's pretend this would be a sceptre and I would be at the same stage there... how to go on then?

I thought that since RF is tagged as a spell, spell dmg increases it as well....

Once this was a very good weapon for RF but now better has been crafted....

Considering it's a scepter, my guess is: redo until success. If your veiled chaos hits crap suffixes, craft again Prefixes can't be changed and retry, until you only have the veiled mod as suffix. If ever you roll 3 suffixes (which in theory is rarer than only 1, ie only the veiled mod), you can still reroll using the Harvestcraft "reforge a rare item keeping its prefixes".

There might be a better way, but nothing I'm aware of.

HOWEVER !

Unless I'm very mistaken, "prefixes can't be changed" only prevents existing prefixes to change, but not new prefixes to fill the 3rd prefix spot. So to be sure not to roll a crap prefix and brick your item, you might need to multicraft "prefixes can't be changed" and any prefix before using chaos veiled. I'm not sure of this, confirmation needed.

Assuming your item, do the following:

1) Craft "Can have 3 modifiers" suffix
2) Craft "Prefixes can't be changed" suffix
3) Craft any cheap prefix (doesn't matter, this is just to fill up the spot).

Now hit it with the veiled chaos. If you end up with an open suffix, remove crafted mods using the bench, then craft a suffix you don't want with a high weight to block.

If you unveil something good, remove crafted mods and multi-mod it (fire damage% for prefix). If you do not hit something good, it gets more expensive:

(If you have 2 open suffixes) - Restart from step 1 above.

(If you have 1 open suffix) - Prefixes can't be changed, scour, then restart from the beginning.

(If you have no open suffixes) - Craft a cheap prefix, then Harvest Reforge Keeping Prefixes until you get open suffix (Preferably 2). Then go back to step 1 above.

I'd start with prefixes cannot be changed + anul. Your suffix is worthless, and that's a 50% chance to drop it with a 0% chance at bricking.

TremjinGod is spot on. "Cannot be changed" meta crafts do not prevent new mods from being added.

About multimod, a single scour will remove all crafted mods.

Scratch everything I said originally: Prefixes can't be changed annul straight up doesn't save him anything. If he succeeded in the annul, he would need to recraft multimod and prefixes can't be changed or the veiled chaos will fill his prefix. It's lose-lose doing it that way. There is no scenario where that comes out ahead.
