Build mechanically similar to D2 Lightning Fury Amazon?
Hey there!
I want to try to get into this game, and thinking back to my old D2 days there is one build I really miss playing: Lightning Fury Amazon. So I'm wondering if there's anything that feels similar I could go for in this game? To be clear, I don't really care about the theme, but the mechanics of it: That is, a projectile that pierces enemies, and every time it hits something, it sends out extra projectiles towards nearby enemies. So it doesn't have to be lightning based, it doesn't have to be throwing weapons - What I want is a build to clump up big bunches of enemies and take them down with piercing chain reactions of forking projectiles. Is there anything like that I can aim for? Last bumped on Jan 6, 2022, 9:40:27 AM

Take literally any projectile build
Add chain or fork Profit the problem here is that projectile based attack builds (bows, wanders) are kinda gear dependent to be able to dish out big dmg, compared to the insane power of javazon. and i think you can see why knowing how powerful have huge dmg on that kind of coverage is Last edited by jewdas12#5648 on Jan 4, 2022, 3:03:35 PM

In this game, what can pierce cannot chain or fork
there are skills though that create secondary effects on each hit from initial projectiles, even from those that fork, chain or pierce. Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot, Kinetic Blast.. Tornado Shot creates bunch of secondary projectiles from initial arrows, that pierce and "explode" in targeted location Fury Valve amulet lets you fire only one projectile, which on impact fires projectiles on enemies. Good with skills that start with multiple projectiles like Split arrow or Power Siphon You can achieve chain reactions from on-kill effects, like Herald of Ice and/or explosions on death from various sources etc IGN: Eric_Lindros

I see, so it seems I need to experiment a bit to find the skills I like. Is it possible to make sort of a "general" build on for example a ranger, to test out all sorts of skills? The skill tree wanting me to specialize on specific weapons and damage types already from level 1 is a bit daunting.

Skills are dirt cheap and easily obtainable once you get a bit through the campaign. Then you can test them all out to see how they work mechanically (though as you said, the cost of respeccing prevents you from getting good idea on their output).
One ability that comes to mind that already has chain built in would be Cobra Lash. It kinda sucks since the deadeye chain nerf, but still is workable. I don't know of any abilities that have built in forking that explode into a million projectiles. Украина в моём сердце

"unless you are following a guide to the letter, you are gonna brick a couple of builds before you get the hang of things, and thats ok. skill trees can be changed by spending orb of regrets, but for a first timer its better to just consider hitting a wall a learning experience, thinking about what you can do better, and try again. eventually you understand the basics of what goes into a build and you can start stealing ideas from other players with better builds you could just start a ranger and mess around with bow skills, it sounds like your cup of tea. you get access to chain somewhere around lvl 40 and eventually you can have chaining and forking projectiles spraying out of all your orifices if you like |
